55022 'Royal Scots Grey' is seen passing Ponthir with the return leg of John Fishwick and Sons' 1Z57 "The Mid Wales Borderer" from Cardiff Central To Blackpool. The Deltic had visited the Heart of Wales line, and was powering the tour except for when it was routed the wrong way to Llaneilli instead of being sent up the Port Tablot district lines. This meant 57601, the tail loco, was leading into Cardiff Central, so then the train was turned via Newport and Maindee Junctions, so that 55022 was leading again.
