Rail Charter Services to use HST on the 'Staycation Express' (01.03.21, updated 05.03.21)

Rail Charter Services' 'Staycation Express' which last year used heritage diesels from classes 20, 37, 40 and 47 has announced it will use a HST set this summer. The new service which started in July last year running three weekday round trips per day from Skipton to Appleby will also run through to Carlisle this year. A new light green livery for the HST and Mk3 coaches will be introduced (see below), so Locomotive Services will form a second HST set to complemnt the Blue Pullman HST set which was introduced towards the end of last year.

The HST set will run as a 2 + 5 formation comprising all First Class open coaches. Two ex East Midlands Railway power cars will be repainted, with a third available as a spare.
