West Coast Railways has confirmed that its steam hauled Jacobite season will start on 15th April with by Black 5 no. 45212. West Coast Railways temporarily suspended its Jacobite services, which were originally due to start on 28th March, while it applied to the O.R.R. for a temporary exemption to fit Central Door Locking on its Mk 1 coaches. W.C.R. is awaiting O.R.R. decision but has meanwhile managed to put together a rake of Mk 2 coaches with Central Door Locking already fitted. The rake copmprises 4 Mk2 airconditioned coaches (3360, 6000, 6022 and 6103) and a Mk1 buffter car (1860).
From May, the Jacobite normally runs twice a day but will now only run the morning service with its shorter rake of Mk2 coaches.
